Brown Bag Lunch with a Journalist to Feature Reporter Chris Ison
The Twin Cities Media Alliance will host Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter Chris Ison at this month’s Brown Bag Lunch With A Journalist, Wednesday, November 26. The event takes place at the East Lake Library at noon. It is free and open to the public — but you do have to bring your own lunch.

Join the Twin Cities Media Alliance for a brown bag lunch Wednesday, October 22 with Paul Schmelzer, managing editor Minnesota Independent, and a winner of the prestigious Premack and SPJ Page One awards for journalistic excellence. Paul coordinated the Independent’s coverage of the RNC protests - a subject you can ask him about at lunch. Paul also writes the blog Eyeteeth: A journal of incisive ideas, which appears regularly in the Twin Cities Daily Planet, and has written for Adbusters, Cabinet, Ode, Raw Vision, Utne and other publications.
Media Forum: “Tools for Democracy, Strategies for Change,” Oct. 4
The Twin Cities Media Alliance is facilitating the 4th Annual Fall Media Forum on “Tools for Democracy, Strategies for Change”. Confirmed presenters include local Fox 9 news anchor Robyne Robinson and Amalia Anderson from the Main Street Project.
Twin Cities Media Alliance: “Citizens Making News and News Making Democracy”
Jeremy Iggers, executive director of the the Twin Cities Media Alliance, will discuss increasing opportunities for citizens and alternative media to produce, distribute and respond to the news in the context of the election season. Twin Cities Media Alliance Brown Bag Lunch with Doug McGill
The Twin Cities Media Alliance, a local journalism nonprofit directed by Minnesota News Council member Jeremy Iggers, will be hosting its monthly lunch with a journalist at noon on Wednesday, July 23 at East Lake Public Library, 2727 E. Lake St., Minneapolis.
The featured guest will be Doug McGill, a former reporter for the New York Times and international journalist. McGill writes a regular column called “Talking with Strangers” for the Twin Cities Daily Planet, a new online citizen journalism news source launched by the Twin Cities Media Alliance.
