COGI-tations: Patrice McDermott on Government Transparency

Patrice McDermott, director of OpenTheGovernment, is the featured speaker at the next COGI-tations, one in a series of public presentations sponsored by the Minnesota Coalition on Government Information (MnCOGI).  McDermott’s presentation is Monday, June 9, 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, 100 Murphy Hall, 206 Church Street on the University of Minnesota East Bank. Twin Cities Media Alliance Brown Bag Lunch with Doug McGill

The Twin Cities Media Alliance, a local journalism nonprofit directed by Minnesota News Council member Jeremy Iggers, will be hosting its monthly lunch with a journalist at noon on Wednesday, July 23 at East Lake Public Library, 2727 E. Lake St., Minneapolis.

The featured guest will be Doug McGill, a former reporter for the New York Times and international journalist. McGill writes a regular column called “Talking with Strangers” for the Twin Cities Daily Planet, a new online citizen journalism news source launched by the Twin Cities Media Alliance.

MPR News is rounding up community members around Mankato and North Mankato June 25, 2008 to discuss coverage of local news topics. Mankato-area residents are asked, “What local issues are you discussing with your friends and family members?”
